This is the only feature that's missing to make this browser the ultimate deal.

@bonetone I generally agree, but I do see a distinction here which you seem to not recognize. For me, "swipe-action" and "gesture" are really two separate things and should be treated differently. I'll try to explain:

Swipe action:

Part of "standard UI" - swipe action over given element does one specific thing (or one of given set of things) - like "clicking" or "taping" on a button, it just does what the button does. as such it "comes" with the new installation and works right away It's tied to the given element (button, bar...) and can be activated only from this element Is simple (preferably just a single one direction swipe), so it is easy to execute and easy to find by trial-error learning approach

Gesture:

Part of personalized UI (or fully adjustable UI) - specific gesture can be assigned to anything what specific user prefers as such it must be set up (or synced or learned, if you use "default") by the user before it can be used Is executable "anywhere" (...with reasonable limitations, like "anywhere over the page space, outside of other control elements") might be as complex as user wishes it to be in both number of moves and their directions

I really believe these two things should be treated separately, since they fill a different function and (some, many?) users will treat them differently. Both of these are useful, though, it's just they fill a different purpose.

Regarding swipe-actions: I do think that using swipe-actions everywhere is a good idea, because it allows to get more options from less UI elements, keeping the app simple and streamlined. Their usage is tight to the UI itself, though.

For example I would much appreciate to have just one "GENERAL TABS" button in the center of the bottom bar. This buttom could have following functions:

TAP: shows tab overview swipe-UP: shows speed dials swipe-RIGHT (=from center of bottom bar, to right) - goes to next tab swipe-LEFT (=...) - goes to the previous tab
then: swiping from left side of the bottom bar (left from TABS button) to right = forward swiping from right side of the bottom bar to left = backwards

...this way you can have way less buttons in the bottom bar with way more actions which can be triggered from this bar. But it is closely tight to how the bottom bar is being organized.

(Of course it would be great to have the option to personalize ALL of this, but... I'd suggest to stay down on the ground 😃 )

@3zOzDark It appears to work but Windows 11 I was unable to edit the Iicon from the taskbar, instead I had to go to the following location

%AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar

So far it appears to be working.

The whitelist function on Android is key. I can't believe this thread started in 2019 and we still don't have a function that is so essential. DDG has had it for years. I have been a keen Vivaldi user for a couple of years but with more sites I use requiring more security cookies I am now reluctantly looking for an alternative... shame.

Please add to Vivaldi for Android the Forever option that I have used in the “desktop” version of Vivaldi since that option was introduced years ago. Currently it seems that I have to use Firefox for Android to have history from more than ninety days ago retained. Most of my Web browser usage is usually on my portable/stationary computer, not on my handheld computer, but tonight I wanted to find something that I thought I accessed in around 2021 November while travelling so did not have my portable computer out at the time. In this case what I wanted to find was Gödel's ontological proof, which I found because I remembered the name of the author, but I remembered geographically where and when I accessed the page I wanted to find before I remembered the name of the subject of the page so, even though I found what I wanted on my own using only my human memory and the “desktop” version of Vivaldi this time, I still wanted to see if I could find this part of my Web browsing history on my handheld computer from around two years ago. I have lost things that I wanted to find by using the browsing history on my handheld computer, though, because my philosophy is that if I configure my Web browsers to remember my browsing history for ever then I do not need or mostly do not need bookmarks because I can find what I need in the browsing history. The first specific example I can think of of something I lost due to this Chromium lameness of hardwiring the history retention period at ninety days is a discussion of an ICE road vehicle with an automatic transmission getting stuck in Park so badly that the vehicle had to be hauled on a flat-deck truck to someone who thought they could repair the vehicle with the transmission problem. I found that page whilst seeking specific information about fuses in a 2006 Mercedes-Benz B200 with continuously-variable transmission whilst working on the B200. My father does not seem to believe me that the cause of the failure in the vehicle in the discussion I found whilst seeking something else is not user error and I lost the discussion from my Web browsing history due to this Chromium lameness.

Would like this. I keep tabs open for this exact reason and eventually it becomes a nightmare. Even a simple export to CSV feature that stores URLs and titles would be nice. This way I can search through the titles as well

If possible,
add an option in the mouse settings
so that the links of the sites that we don't want the mouse settings to be
applied to those sites
For example, I don't want the mouse settings to work on the chess
site

This feature is asked for about all Chromium projects since many years. It is the main reason why, today, I still use Firefox as my main browser at work.

We use most of all Microsoft services (Sharepoint, OneDrive, mails and soon Business Central, etc). For IT support, I often has to connect to different accounts and Multi-Account Containers extension is an absolute must for me. And all the containers are synched with the Mozilla account, so I can have them on all my computers (work, personal, Windows, Linux...).
